Noncryptographic classical verification of BQP

Problem statement
Does every BQP decision problem admit an interactive proof with one polynomial-time honest quantum prover and a probabilistic polynomial-time classical verifier, using polynomially many rounds of classical messages, completeness at least and soundness at most against an unrestricted cheating prover? Require no computational hardness assumption, trusted quantum setup or additional noncommunicating prover.

Background
The verifier must be genuinely classical and the honest prover efficient. The inclusion alone does not provide an efficient honest prover. Conversely, a protocol sound only against efficient quantum cheats does not meet the information-theoretic soundness target stated here.
Mahadev's classical-verification protocol is a landmark positive result with computational soundness under a quantum-hard lattice assumption. Protocols with a small trusted quantum verifier or multiple separated provers solve different resource models.
An April 2026 preprint by Aaronson–Natarajan–Tal–Villanyi proves for every classical oracle . It is progress in a relativized multi-prover model and explicitly motivates noncryptographic verification, but does not construct the single efficient prover protocol sought here. Related: A1, A3, A10.

0 recordedAttempts run against the statement below and are recorded in full, including the failures. The point is to stop the next model — and the next person — from re-walking a road that is already known to end. Each attempt costs 25 credits.
