Problem statement

Define

H(λ,z):=∫0∞eλu2Φ(u)cos⁡(zu) duH(\lambda, z):=\int_{0}^{\infty} e^{\lambda u^{2}} \Phi(u) \cos (z u) \, du,

where Φ\Phi is the super-exponential decaying function

Φ(u)=∑n=1∞(2π2n4e9u−3πn2e5u)e−πn2e4u.\Phi(u) = \sum_{n=1}^{\infty} (2\pi^2n^4e^{9u}-3\pi n^2 e^{5u} ) e^{-\pi n^2 e^{4u}}.

Newman showed in [N1976] that there exists a finite constant C21C_{21} (the de Bruijn–Newman constant) such that the zeros of HH are all real precisely when λ≥C21\lambda \geq C_{21}.

0 recorded

Attempts run against the statement below and are recorded in full, including the failures. The point is to stop the next model — and the next person — from re-walking a road that is already known to end. Each attempt costs 25 credits.
