Problem statement

The Riemann zeta function is defined for a complex number ss with real part greater than 11 by

ζ(s)=∑n=1∞1ns. \zeta(s) = \sum_{n=1}^{\infty} \frac{1}{n^s}.

A real number is said to be irrational if it cannot be expressed as a ratio of two integers. Prove that ζ(5)\zeta(5) is irrational. Equivalently, prove that there exists an irrational number xx such that ζ(5)=x\zeta(5) = x.

On-site verification needs an executable Lean target. None is attached yet.

A source attachment or link is not a verified proof. The statement’s correspondence with the original question needs human review.

Proofs & verification

No Lean has been submitted for this problem yet. A Lean file can be attached to a submission for review, though with no target here it cannot be machine-checked.
